Bogigian Art Gallery

Located in Lortz Hall, 2nd floor.

The Bogigian Gallery was named in honor of Hagop Bogigian, a benefactor of Wilson College.  Mr. Bogigian came to America from Armenia in 1876 and became a successful businessman and activist against human injustice.

The gallery exhibits a variety of media and artists in Fall and Spring semesters, including the annual Student Exhibit held each April. This exhibit is the kick-off event for our annual Arts Day; a day dedicated to the celebration of the liberal arts at Wilson College. Recent exhibitions have included painters, printmakers, graphic designers, photographers, and ceramists from the Cumberland Valley and mid-Atlantic.

Bogigian Gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and admission is free. For additional information or appointment, contact Philip Lindsey at (717) 264-4141, Ext. 3305 or

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.  – Wilson College will hold a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, to mark the opening of Alumnae/i Art Exhibition. The exhibit, presented by Wilson’s Department of Fine Arts and Dance, Office of Alumnae/i Relations, and C. Elizabeth Boyd Archives, will continue through December 6, in the Hankey Center. The show opens on Monday, August 26.

The show provides a venue for Wilson alumnae/i to share their work with the community. Some participants in the exhibit studied art while at Wilson and have enjoyed very successful careers as artists. Other participants discovered their passion and skill long after leaving their alma-matter. Like most open calls for entry, the exhibit will feature drawings, paintings, prints, ceramics, photographs and mixed-media artwork with a wide array of subject matter and content.
