Transfer Credit Policy

Transfer students receive credit for courses equivalent to Wilson courses, other liberal arts or major courses as determined by the Registrar.  Technical, vocational and career development courses will not transfer. Previous academic work must be completed with a grade of C or better. Wilson accepts credits from schools accredited by the Regional Association of Colleges and Schools.

Merit Scholarships for Transfer Students (Fall 2014)

Students who complete four (4) transferrable college courses at another college or university after graduating from high school are considered to be eligible for these scholarships.  Students with less than four transferrable college courses may be awarded merit scholarships based on their cumulative high school GPA and the criteria for those first year freshman awards.  Students must be enrolled full-time at Wilson College to be eligible for a Merit Scholarship.  Eligibility for the Merit Scholarship ends with the completion of the first bachelor's degree.  Students with an associate's degree from a community college with which Wilson has an articulation agreement who receive a Presidential, Deans or Leadership Scholarship will not receive an additional Transfer Scholarship.

 Presidential Scholarship Eligibility & Conditions:
a)   Membership in Phi Theta Kappa
                          OR
b)   3.75 cumulative GPA in all college course work
c)   3.4 cumulative GPA at conclusion of each academic year to renew

Deans Scholarship Eligibility & Conditions:
a)   3.4 to 3.74 cumulative GPA in all college course work
b)   3.25 cum GPA at conclusion of each academic year to renew

Leadership Scholarship Eligibility & Conditions:
a)   3.0 to 3.39 cumulative GPA in all college course work
b)   3.0 cumulative GPA at conclusion of each academic year to renew
c)   Demonstration of leadership or service in college or community. Amount based on quality
      & duration of involvement

Transfer Scholarship Eligibility & Conditions:
a)   2.5 to 2.99 cumulative GPA in a completed associate degree program at one of the community
      colleges with which Wilson has an articulation agreement
b)   2.5 cumulative GPA at conclusion of each academic year to renew
c)   This scholarship will not be awarded in conjunction with any of the others listed above

 Phi Theta Kappa members will receive an additional $1000 annual scholarship.

Transfer Student Scholarship is available to full-time students who completed an Associate's Degree at one of the community colleges with which Wilson College has an articulation agreement.  These include Central Penn College, Cottey College, Frederick Community College, Hagerstown Community College, Harcum College, Harrisburg Area Community College, Howard Community College, Lehigh-Carbon Community College, and Luzerne County Community College.  The award is $1000.
