"Cuba is a magical yet enigmatic place. The people are warm, gentle and proud. The politics are fascinating. Music is everywhere. Havana vieja is vibrant.
I have been twice in the past two years. Its physical transformation in the past two years is very visible: boutique hotels, restaurants, jazz clubs, street life, new cars on the roads. You will be comfortable. Now is a great time to go. Be sure to re-read Hemingway's Old Man and the Sea to get you in the mood."
