WILSON COLLEGE CLUB OF BALTIMORE
JUNE POT-LUCK DINNER
Date and details for our annual June pot-luck dinner will
be forthcoming in a mailing in May. Please watch for details.
In the first mailing of the year, we announced we’d like to try to have a
picnic in a local park in May. Due to many schedule conflicts
for Club members (graduations, weddings, and more), we hope to change this to a
summer-time event, likely in July. The next mailing should have more
RECENT CLUB NEWS
The Club gathered February 10th at June Behm’s house for
a lively meeting about recently read favorite books and a critique of our
“book-club” selection, Claiming Ground, by Laura Bell. It was great fun to find
we have a “Claiming Ground” adventurer among our own—Patricia Pensel, who last
year explored the open country on a Western riding vacation. We were as
fascinated by her stories as we were by author Laura Bell’s stories of herding
sheep and driving cattle in Wyoming. In January, we met at the Rusty Scupper Restaurant for lunch on a beautiful winter’s afternoon with a gorgeous view of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. We discussed the January 13th news from the Board of Trustees, we shared information and agreed to express our concerns to the College about the recent developments.
CLUB DUES AND FUNDRAISER
Thank you to the many Club members who have submitted dues
($12/year) and made donations to our annual “Phantom Ball” fundraiser. If you
have not yet made your contribution, please consider a donation now. Checks
should be made payable to Wilson College Club of Baltimore and sent to Club
Treasurer June Behm, 5716 Oakshire Road, Baltimore, MD 21209. All Phantom Ball proceeds and other donations are given to the College, as designated by Club
members in attendance at our June meeting.
