Application Procedures & Requirements
Please submit the following materials:
- Application/Essays: Submit online
- $35 non-refundable application fee (mail check, payable to Wilson College, to Wilson College M.Ed. Office, 1015 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17201). Fee is only waived if applicant attended an M.Ed. Information Session
- Official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate colleges and universities attended must be sent directly to the Director of the Graduate Education Programs
- Praxis scores (copies are accepted)
- Two letters of recommendation, specifically for entry into the Wilson College M.Ed., MET and MSE Program, from educators or employers. One letter should be from applicant's current principal or supervisor
Non-degree students may enroll in any M.Ed, MSE. or MET course for which they have the necessary prerequisites with the approval of the Director of the Graduate Education Programs. A student must be formally admitted to the M.Ed., MSE or MET Program by the end of their first semester.
Master of Education, Master of Special Education and Master of Educational Technology Entrance Requirements
Female and male PK-12 teachers will meet the entrance requirements as delineated below. Admission is competitive, and space is limited. Interested students should apply early. Degree Program Admission is based on the following criteria:
Completion of the baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education
A minimum undergraduate cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Submission of required application credentials (see Application Procedures)
A current certification for eligibility to teach in grades PK-12
Provisional status allows a student to enroll in graduate classes in order to qualify for admission to the degree program. A student may be granted provisional status by the program director after a plan of action is developed which will assist the student to meet the entrance requirements of the program.
If a student is granted provisional status, the student must first satisfactorily complete the educational plan approved by the program director with a GPA of 3.0 or higher before being officially admitted to the program.
Master of Education, Master of Special Education and Master of Educational Technology Graduation Requirements
The successful M.Ed., MSE or MET candidate will complete 10 course credits, which includes a Master’s Project, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Graduate course credit will be awarded only for earned grades of C or better. An electronic portfolio of course materials is also required at the completion of the M.Ed. Program.
All course work and degree requirements must be completed within six years of taking the first class in the M.Ed., MSE, or MET Program. Appeals for extension of the six-year limit must be submitted in writing to the Director of the Graduate Education Programs.
* As the M.Ed., MSE or MET Program progresses, additional courses may be added to accommodate individual needs and interests.
