Frank E. Gannett Memorial Field House
Frank E. Gannett Memorial Field House, located on the North end of campus, houses most of our indoor athletic facilities.
Nelson Gymnasium holds a standing capacity of one thousand and is where basketball and gymnastics have their home events. There are locker room facilities located here along with a bowling alley and an archery range.
The Athletic Training Room is located off the gymnasium floor, which is staffed by a full-time Athletic Trainer. The training room is equipped with modalities and therapeutic equipment that can be utilized by the student-athletes for injury rehabilitation. Offices of the Athletic Director, Lori Frey, Athletic Recruiting Coordinator, Shelly Novak, and Sports Information Director, Beth Weixel, are also located in the Field House.
Generally, these facilities are open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Physical education classes and intercollegiate teams have priority and the facilities are not open when either group is using them. You may call in advance to check availability of the facilities during the day. Regular evening hours are available as indicated, but a guard must be on duty. Facility rules are posted at each location.
The gymnasium is utilized for basketball, volleyball, indoor field hockey, and includes a softball batting cage.
The bowling alley is open in the evening during open gym hours. It is located in the field house. There are two lanes available, equipped with bowling shoes and bowling balls. A guard must be on duty.
The archery range is open once a week for members of the archery club. The range is also utilized for physical education activity courses.
