Disc Golf
Disc Golf is a popular and fast growing sport for people of all ages. It requires little talent to play, yet a large amount of practice and skill to master. This course was established with the funding from a Strategic Initiative Grant. It is our intent to promote a new recreational activity on our campus.
The course is designed as a Par 3 for the recreational player. We hope it will challenge you with several long holes and with a few natural obstacles. The course at Wilson is intended for individual recreation, not for organized group or tournament play. Please contact the Athletic Department if you have any questions or concerns about the Disc Golf Course.
- Scorecards are available at Hole 1
- Please be respectful and yield to all pedestrians and traffic
- Please do not litter
- Please return lost/found discs to the Information Desk in Lenfest Commons
- Equipment may be checked out at the Eden Hall Fitness Center during normal hours of operation
Disc Golf Course Rules
- Disc golf is played like ball golf, using flying discs. One stroke is counted each time the disc is thrown. Lowest score wins.
- Tee throws must be made from behind the tees.
- After teeing off, the player whose disc is farthest from the hole always throws first. The player with the fewest strokes on the previous hole is first to tee off.
- Fairway throws must be made from the spot where the last throw came to rest. (penalty for violation: 1 stroke)
- A run-up and normal follow-through, after release, are allowed more than 10 yards from the hole. Inside 10 yards, a player must not step past his/her lie. “Falling’ or “jumping” putts are not allowed inside 10 yards.
- A golfer has “holed” the disc when the disc lands in a basket.
- Maximum score for any hole is 8 “strokes”
- A throw that lands or travels out-of-bounds must be played from the point where the disc went out of bounds. (1 stroke penalty)
- Out of Bounds – All buildings, landscaping, parking lots, roads and sidewalks are considered out of bounds.
- Unplayable Lie – Any disc that comes to rest more than 2 meters above ground is considered an unplayable lie. The disc must be thrown from the new lie on the ground directly underneath the unplayable lie. (1 stroke penalty)
