Wilson Hockey posts 3-0 Victory over Wells Express

The Wilson College field hockey team posted at 3-0 victory over the Express of Wells College on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore, Hillary Swartz (Carlisle, Pa./ Boiling Springs) scored the Phoenix’s first goal in the third minute of the game, finding the back of the cage on a loose ball in Wells’ crease. Wilson would hold on to the 1-0 advantage into the break. Early in the second half, Arissa Ward (Harrisburg, Pa./ Central Dauphin) converted on a cross from Megan Schneck (Bethel, Pa./ Tulpenhocken). In the final mintues of the game, Kimberly Leitima (Frederick, Md./ Frederick) score Wilson's third and final goal.

Gina Weigold (Charlottesville, Va./ Monticello) recorded 2 saves in the cage for Wilson. Senior, Brandy Holtzapple (Red Lion, Pa./ Red Lion) also saw time in the goal, however did not face any shots.

With three games remaining in the regular season, The Phoenix improve to a 10-6 record. The Wilson field hockey team will host Hood College for their final home game of the season Friday, October 26th at 4:00 p.m.
