Posted: September 7, 2013

The Wilson College women’s soccer team suffered their first conference loss today as Penn State Abington dominated on their home field. The Phoenix lost to the Nittany Lions by a final score of 8-0.

Penn State dominated on offense during the entire contest. They scored first and early piling on the goals, making it difficult for Wilson to catch up or sway the momentum their way.

The Nittany Lions outshot Wilson 20 shots to 2 shots and played an impressive first half, tallying 16 of their shots. Penn State Abington held the advantage in corner kicks over the Phoenix with five. Penn State Abington outplayed the Phoenix in every category and maintained a comfortable lead throughout the game.

Freshman Teniera Prioleau was busy in net and totaled six saves in the contest. Freshman Nana Ohene-Manu and senior Brittany Poff each recorded one shot.

Wilson takes a brief break in the action, but will return to play on Wednesday, September 11th for a home matchup against Cedar Crest College.
