Cross Country Competes at Steven A. Warde Invitational

The Wilson College men and women’s cross country team participated in their opening cross country meet today hosted by SUNY Cobleskill. The Steven A. Warde Invitational marked the first meet ever in the history of the men and women’s cross country programs.

The Phoenix posted a solid performance for their first competition of the season. On the women’s side, freshman Emma Miller placed 10th out of 64 runners and received an honorary medal for her accomplishment. Miller recorded a 20:26 time for her 5K run.

Freshman Danniele Fulmer and sophomore Katelyn Wingerd both finished in the middle of the pack for the 5K run. Sophomore Patrick Fox competed as the first male athlete ever at Wilson College in the men’s five mile run.

The cross country teams will next compete at the Messiah Invitational hosted by Messiah College on September 21st.
