Wilson Field Hockey Falls 3-1

The Phoenix field hockey team slipped to 6-8 on the year after dropping a contest this afternoon against Randolph-Macon College, 3-1. With the loss, the team snapped their recent three game win streak.

Wilson led the game 1-0 going into the first half. Junior Hillary Swartz pushed in a goal unassisted 18 minutes in. The Jackets retaliated in the second half, scoring three consecutive goals and shutting out the Phoenix offense. Randolph-Macon outshot Wilson 24 to 5.

Hillary Swartz totaled four shots in the game while sophomore Taylor Crouse added one. Sophomore goalkeeper Gina Weigold recorded four saves. Wilson travels to Christopher Newport University on October 23rd for a 6:00pm game.
