Men’s Golf Program to Debut in Fall 2014
The Wilson College athletic department is pleased to announce the addition of men’s golf to its varsity sport repertoire for the 2014-15 academic year. The program will be the third sport offered for male student-athletes and Wilson’s ninth NCAA team overall.
“Student-athletes who join the Wilson family for the first golf team will be experiencing a total package,” says Lori Frey, Wilson’s director of intercollegiate athletics. “A quality academic experience combined with a Division III athletic program fortunate to be a practicing and competing at a premiere country club and coached by a well-established golf professional.”
The program will begin competition in the NCAA Division III and North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC). Head coach Jameson Wallace will begin this year with the recruitment of members of the first Phoenix men’s golf team. The program will debut in the fall of 2014.
