At the Regional Women's Gymnastics Championships, Alex Howard qualified for the National Championship competition as an all-around competitor. Several other gymnasts achieved career high scores at the competition as well.

Seniors Complete Final Performances

However, the gymnastics team is sadly losing three outstanding seniors this year. All of them contributed to the team's success and will be greatly missed. They contribute to their team both athletically and academically by making it on the Dean's List regularly.

Sam Vance: Amazing Captain

Sam Vance ‘11 has been an amazing captain for the past two years. She is a great listener and is not afraid to speak up on someone's behalf. Her outstanding performances on every event have contributed greatly to her team's scores. Her favorite part is rocking out to the Hoedown Throwdown and breaking school records on the floor exercise. She is never afraid to try a new skill and performs a greater variety of skills than anyone else I know.

Gymnastics Support System

Monique Pare ‘11 is an incredibly dedicated gymnast. Her improvements throughout the years have been well-earned as she works hard at every single practice. Never challenge her at dancing because she will beat you hands down. Her floor routine is proof of this! She also contributes to her team on every event and does it with style. In addition to her athletic contributions she contributes artistically by making awesome team banners and hair ribbons for competitions.

Beth Bush ‘11 is a great team supporter. She is always pushing herself and her teammates to never give up. Trying a skill over and over again until she gets it right is her specialty. She contributes a lot on the vault, balance beam, and floor exercise and will whip out a bar routine when her team needs her to. Planning and organizing are her jobs when it comes to the gym and she is always willing to take charge when we transport our equipment to the field house for competitions.

These three have all been a great support system both inside and out of the gym. They are all loved by their teammates and will be greatly missed next year!
