Dressage Team Surprises With Second Place Finishes

On Sun, Oct. 23 at Penn State University, the Dressage Team placed second overall, with five riders placing in the top six.

First-level placement

Katie Snyder ‘14 placed second in the First Level Division, Colleen O’Reilly ‘12 placed sixth in Upper Training Division, while Sara Howley ‘13 had a three way tie in the same division. Jessica Masilotti ‘14, riding in the Introductory Level, placed second. Liz Hart ‘13 placed fifth in the Lower Training division.

"After being viewed as the weak team last year, the other schools in IDA Region C recognize that Wilson College is a threat," says Dressage Team Captain, Leslie Hoover ‘13.

Snowfall during event causes trouble

The Dressage Team continued their success with a show at home on Sat, Oct. 29. The day brought many troubles, including the first snowfall of the season.

"Breathe and no matter what, showing is a learning experience; no matter what your dressage test score is," reminded Coach, Shannon Lehman, before the day started.

Taking advice from their coach to heart, the team earned another second place finish overall. Snyder placed fourth and O’Reilly placed fifth.Michelle Calka ‘15 placed third in the Upper Training Division and Kelsy Peterson ‘14 placed fourth and Hart finished second in the Lower Training Division. Masilotti took second place, rounding out the day.
