Early Sunday morning residents of Prentis Hall, a dorm building for the Women With Children (WWC), woke up to flooding inside the building. They notified several Resident Assistants, security, members of the Wilson College administration, and the local fire department. By 8:00am a full evacuation of Prentis was underway.

Melissa Murphy '11, one of the displaced mothers in Prentis Hall, recalls the evacuation, "Sherri [Ihle Sadowski] was finding s rooms to move into, Dean Perkins was helping with child care, [and] Katie Kough was bringing light snacks and water." She says it was very organized and that "At one point I had tears in my eyes, not because of what happened, but because of all the help we had." Throughout the evacuation, mothers from Disert, teachers from the child care center and even a local church group showed up to help save necessities and personal belongings from the rooms.

Residents from Prentis moved into rooms in Disert, Riddle and South Hall while restoration and clean up was completed in Prentis. Dan Golliday, General Manager of the Physical Plant, said the cleanup "[was] a group effort between Wilson employees and a company called Serve Pro." Serve Pro, according to Dean Carloyn Perkins in an email sent out to the campus, provided drying and dehumidifying services for the cleanup. The child care center remained closed until state inspectors could approve the clean up. It reopened June 14. On June 16 Prentis dorms reopened and mothers were able to move back to their dorms.

Murphy thanks the Physical Plant staff and all others who helped with the moving efforts, "we never heard a complaint from them even though it was a Sunday."
