"Decision making weekend"
Annette Huber, Coordinator of Admissions Operations, says, "Premiere Weekend is often referred to as ‘Decision Making Weekend.'" Wilson will display itself and encourage the visiting students to make a final decision to attend Wilson in fall.
The activities
The activities during Premiere Weekend include advising information sessions, young alumnae panels, the Wilson Showcase, etc. Students can also stay on campus over the weekend and mingle with other visiting students. (See full schedule of Premiere Weekend events)
Riding skill evaluations
For the first time, Premiere Weekend will include riding skill evaluations for students who want to take riding classes in fall. The evaluations are on Friday, March 26. Director and Assist. Prof. of Equestrian Studies, John Tukey, is in charge of the test.
Wilson Showcase of Talent
The highlight of the Premiere Weekend is the Wilson Showcase in Saturday evening. Orchesis Club, Drama Club and Choir will perform at the Showcase.
Prof. of Dance, Paula Kellinger, the advisor of Orchesis, thinks that, "The Showcase is a wonderful way to introduce visiting students to the activities and talents of current students. I hope seeing Wilson students perform will contribute to their decision to come to Wilson."
You can help
Current students can also contribute to Premiere Weekend. In addition to the Wilson College tour guides who will provide assistance as event hosts, other students are invited to participate on student panels as well as to represent their clubs during the "fast pass sessions." Eight campus clubs, including WCGA, Campus Activity Board (CAB), Yearbook, Orchesis, Riding Teams, Honors Program, and Recreation/Recreational Facilities will participate in the sessions. They will explain their club activities and answer questions from the visiting students. Besides, the Wilson Showcase is also open to current students.
