The Department of Business and Economics Speakers Series inaugural event presents speaker Edgar H. (“Ted”) Howells.
About the Series
This series is designed to bring a diverse group of individuals to the Wilson campus to discuss with the audience their careers and the lessons they have learned over the course of those careers which will help others as they pursue their employment opportunities. Presented in the format of “Inside the Actors Studio”; the program will be somewhat casual, and speakers will take questions from the audience.
About the Speaker
Ted is a member of Wilson College’s Board of Trustees, whose mother and wife were Wilson students. Ted was raised in and went to school in Pennsylvania, but ended up at the Oscars as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Sony Pictures Entertainment, Inc.
Ted will discuss his career and how he went from an accounting graduate working for a CPA firm in New York, to a senior executive in the motion picture industry in California, what lessons he learned along the way, and what he was looking for when he interviewed people for employment.
