Traveling in the United States

The public transportation system in the United States may not be quite what you are accustomed to. However, in major metropolitan areas you will be able to find a network of subways, taxis and buses that make local travel easy.

Wilson College Shuttle

There is a low cost Wilson shopping Shuttle that runs Fridays from 5:00 p.m. through 10:00 p.m. to a number of shopping locations around the town of Chambersburg. Shopping shuttle pass is $25 a semester or $40 per year. See Student Development Office Manager Lorie Helman for a pass.

There is Shuttle service from Wilson College to the Washington D.C. Metro system at least monthly, and more often if there is demand for such. Wilson offers shuttle service to D.C. Metro system (Shady Grove) at reasonable cost. Check with Student Development Office Manager for details.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles

If you will be traveling within the United States or abroad, you should be familiar with the different modes of transportation available to you. And don’t forget to ask about student rates.

Train

If you have available time over vacation and you have the will to travel – trains can be a comfortable mode of transportation.

Bus

Megabus has become popular with many students and other travelers. The nearest Megabus pickup to Chambersburg PA is Harrisburg PA, about one hour north of Wilson campus. Wilson offers shuttle service to Megabus at reasonable cost. See Student Development Office Manager for details.

Air Travel

Don't forget to sign up for frequent flyer programs on airlines you use.
