2013 Course Offerings
Each child will be placed in 4 courses per week based on their order of preference and availability. Some courses may not run or may fill up quickly.
Archery - Master Archery tackle & in-target shooting, beginners are welcome! Grades 3-6
Karate Kids - A specialized program including age-appropriate material that's designed to target the stages of child development in a fun and entertaining way. Children will learn focus, teamwork, fitness, balance, discipline, coordination and be on their way to becoming a karate kid. Grades K-3, 4-6
Basic Chess - Learn the basic rules and strategy of the wonderful game of chess. You may even be able to teach your parents how to play the game. Grades 4-6
Intermediate Chess - Grades 4-6
Mystery Festival - Students observe the "Crime Scene", then conduct crime lab tests on evidence at classroom learning stations, analyze the results, apply their knowledge and try to solve the case of "Who Borrowed Mr. Bear?" Grades K-3
CSI - Grades 4-6
Tie Dye Basics - Design your own T-shirt with paint dipping and relief painting. Grades K-3, 4-6
Bead Work - Grades K-3, 4-6
Ceramics - Grades K-3, 4-6 (JUNE WEEK ONLY)
What's Cooking? - Learn basic cooking skills. Discover how easy and fun it is to make your own meals and snacks. Grades K-3
Kitchen Fun! - A more in-depth look into mastering the skills needed to prepare a fantastic meal as taught by our highly trained professional chefs. Grade 4-6
Digital Photography - This introductory course is perfect for those children who love to grab your cell phone and take pictures of everything. Your child will walk away with the basic knowledge of framing, lighting and post production. Grades 4-6 (Requires either a digital camera or SD memory card)
Basketball Skills - Grades K-3, 4-6
Frisbee Golf Learn the basic rules and skills involved in order to play the growing game of frisbee golf. Wilson College offers an excellent 9 hole course playable by the public for FREE year round. Grades 4-6
Scrapbooking - Grades K-3, 4-6
Nature Art - Discover and explore the natural world around you! Using nature's treasure trove of materials, you will have fun creating art projects inspired by nature. Grades K-3
Historical Handcrafts - Your children will have a creative and fun learning experience, while recreating the skills of their ancestors. Each day they will have a hands-on learning experience by trying different traditional crafts such as knitting, crochet, embroidery, weaving and lacemaking. Grades 3-6 (JULY ONLY)
Ballroom Basics - Kids will be introduced to one different dance each day to experience the variety of ballroom dances. The dances that will be covered are the Merengue, Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango and Cha Cha. Grades 3-6 (JULY ONLY)
