Wilson College basketball player, Vanessa Whitfield (Chambersburg, Pa./ Chambersburg), was selected to the North Eastern Athletic Conference’s (NEAC) All-Conference Third Team as a forward.
Whitfield has been an offensive threat for the Phoenix, leading Wilson’s stat sheet in almost every offensive statistical category. She averaged 16 points per game, ranking her fifth among the NEAC. This season as a junior, she hit the 1,000 career point benchmark in the February 17th game against conference rival SUNY IT, and has now totaled 1,004 points to date. Whitfield also leads the Phoenix with 9.3 rebounds per game, which places her seventh among NEAC opponents. According to Head Coach, Angie Grove, “I am very excited for Vanessa. She is a very talented basketball player and deserves this recognition for her efforts.” Whitfield is a junior, pursuing a degree in Sport Management.
