The Wilson College Soccer team earned their first win of the 2011 season, defeating Valley Forge Christian College 2-1 Tuesday afternoon.
Senior, Alyssa Bernard (Hillsborough, NJ/ Hillsborough) got the Phoenix on the board first with a goal just 15:22 into the game. Wilson would hold on to the 1-0 advantage going into the half.
The Patriots fought back and evened the score with 25 minutes remaining in the game. However, just 4 minuets later, senior Colleen O’Reilly (Mardela Springs, MD/ Salisbury) scored the game winning goal off a pass from sophomore Courtney Bernecker (Saint Thomas, PA/ James Buchanan).
Elizabeth Boratenski (Silver Springs, MD/ Homeschooled) recorded 11 saves in goal for Wilson.
The Phoenix improve to 1-3-0 on the season and will be on the road Saturday, September 17th to take on Penn State Berks.
