Wilson Enrolls Palestinian Student as NeXXt Scholar
Wilson College is one of only eight women’s colleges in the United States to enroll a NeXXt Scholar for the fall 2012 semester. Ghada Tafesh, from the city of Gaza in the Palestinian territories, is majoring in biology and wants to become a physician.

Wilson’s first Gates Millennium Scholar, Shaylah McQueen ’16 decided to enroll in the Women with Children Program with her two-year-old son, Zaccaeus, after hearing about Wilson College from a high school social worker.

Seniors Receive PAS Grants
Three Wilson College seniors were recently notified that they were awarded Pennsylvania Academy of Science (PAS) research grants. The grants are competitive and are awarded to outstanding research proposals submitted by undergraduate or graduate students from institutions across the state of Pennsylvania.

Wilson College helped former U.S. Army mechanic Michael Kirkpatrick earn a bachelor’s degree in business management in a variety of ways besides education, including allowing him to receive credit for work experience and assisting with payment for credits through his employer, as well as the G.I.
