    Students will present the results of their undergraduate research at Wilson’s 5th annual Student Research Day on Friday, May 2. The public is invited to join Wilson students, faculty, staff and administrators at all events.

    Student Presents Senior Capstone Art Exhibitions

    Wilson College senior Laci Cox of Cascade, Md., will host a capstone exhibition of her photographs at coffee shop Artfully Brewed, 115 N. Main Street, Chambersburg, in late April through early May. The exhibition, entitled Through the Arts, will open Monday, April 28, with a reception from 6 to 9 p.m., and remain on view through May 9.

    Choral Concert Set for May 4

    The Wilson College Choir will perform its spring concert at 3 p.m., Sunday, May 4, in Thomson Hall’s Alumnae Chapel. The concert is free and open to the public. The choir, led by director Elizabeth Thorpe, will feature “Show Tunes of the Past and Present.” Selections include a Disney medley, “Do You Hear the People Sing?” from Les Miserables, “Seasons of Love” from Rent and “There’s No Business Like Show Business” from Annie Get Your Gun.

    Students to Perform Play About Katrina Animal Rescue

    The Wilson College Drama Club will perform a powerful play about the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, seen through the eyes of a young man who volunteered to help rescue the pets left behind. Performances of Because They Have No Words will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 25 and 26, in Laird Hall.

    Wilson College Professor Emeritus Raymond Kemp Anderson will be recognized for the publication of his new book about one of the greatest Christian theorists of modern times at a celebration to be held Thursday, April 24, at the college.

    Seniors Present Research at Pennsylvania Academy of Science

    Seven Wilson College seniors presented the results of their research and two won top honors for their oral presentations at the 90th Annual Meeting of the Pennsylvania Academy of Science (PAS), held March 21 to 23 at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove.

    Tree-Planting Event to be held April 26

    Volunteers are being sought to plant more than 300 native trees and shrubs along the Conococheague Creek on the Wilson College campus on Saturday, April 26. The event kicks off “Trees for Tomorrow,” a county-wide effort to plant 150,000 new trees in the Conococheague Watershed.

    Holocaust Survivor to Speak at Wilson on April 17

    Holocaust survivor Charles Middleberg will talk about his experiences as a boy living in France during the Nazi occupation in “From Generation to Generation: One Survivor’s Experience of the Holocaust.” The talk, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 11 a.m. to noon on Thursday, April 17, in Wilson’s Thomson Hall chapel.

    Writers Series Features Poet Emilia Phillips

    Poet Emilia Phillips will read from her new work, Signaletics, at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 10, as part of the annual Writers Series at Wilson College. The reading, which is free and open to the public, will be held in Laird Hall’s Patterson Lounge. Refreshments will be served. Phillips is the 2013-14 Gettysburg College Emerging Writer.     Hypnotist to Perform April 11

    Comedy hypnotist Mikey Angel will perform at Wilson College on Friday, April 11, in Laird Hall as part of Wilson’s 2013-2014 Performing Arts Series. Doors will open at 7 p.m. and the performance will begin at 7:30.
