Wilson Hosts Teacher Intern Program Information Sessions

Chambersburg, Pa. -- Wilson College is presenting spring information sessions for those interested in its popular Teacher Intern Program, in which anyone with a bachelor’s degree can be certified to teach at the elementary or secondary levels.

Unless otherwise noted, sessions will begin at 7 p.m. at the following locations:

  • April 25, West York High School, Auditorium, West York
  • May 9, Carlisle High School, Fowler Technical Center, Carlisle
  • May 15, 5:30 p.m., Wilson College’s Hankey Center
  • May 23, Gettysburg High School Auditorium, Gettysburg
  • May 30, Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC), Whitaker Hall, Room 214, Harrisburg

The Wilson College Teacher Intern Program was established in 1985 and is the largest such program authorized by the Pennsylvania Department of Education in the area. The program is specifically designed to help men and women with bachelor’s degrees become certified to teach as quickly and inexpensively as possible.

Most classes are offered at night and students only take classes they need to become certified to teach in 45 states, including Pennsylvania and Maryland. Classes are available at Wilson and several satellite centers, including the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, Cumberland Valley School District near Mechanicsburg and the East Pennsboro School District in Enola.
