Wilson College Announces 2011 Commencement Speaker

3/24/2011 Dr. Hazel Henderson – an evolutionary economist, futurist and leading advocate for sustainable and ethical development - will address the graduating class at Wilson College’s 141st commencement ceremony, to be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 22.

CHAMBERSBURG, PA – Hazel Henderson – an evolutionary economist, futurist and leading advocate for sustainable and ethical development - will address the graduating class at Wilson College’s 141st commencement ceremony, to be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 22. The title of her speech is “Ethics and Enterprise in the Age of Light: Good Living, Appreciating Assets, in the Growing Green Economy.”
Henderson, who will receive an honorary degree from the college, is also an author, syndicated columnist and founder of Ethical Markets Media, an independent media company promoting a sustainable, green and more ethical and just economy worldwide.
She is the author of the award-winning book, “Ethical Markets: Growing the Green Economy” (2006) and eight other books. Henderson’s editorials appear in 27 languages and in 200 newspapers syndicated by InterPress Service. Her articles have appeared in more than 250 journals, including the Harvard Business Review, New York Times and Christian Science Monitor.
Henderson has received numerous awards and shared the 1996 Global Citizen Award with Nobel Prize winner A. Perez Esquivel of Argentina. In 2007, she was elected a Fellow to Britain’s Royal Society of Arts and was named one of the "Top 100 Thought Leaders in Trustworthy Business Behavior 2010" by Trust Across America.
