CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — The Wilson College 2012-13 Performing Arts Series resumes Friday, Feb. 15, with what is sure to be an exhilarating performance by zydeco sensations Nathan Williams and the Zydeco Cha Chas. Tickets for the performance, which begins at 7:30 p.m. in Laird Hall, are $15.

Zydeco is the fast and furious accordion-driven dance music of the Creole people of South Louisiana. With its rhythm and blues influences, zydeco is distinct from fiddle-driven Cajun music, using electric guitars and a trademark rub-board percussion to bring a lively energy to the genre.

Williams plays zydeco in a modern style. Rounding out the Cha Chas is the exceptional rhythm section of bassist Paul Newman and drummer Herman “Rat” Brown, who held the drum chair with Buckwheat Zydeco for many years.

Space is limited. Tickets may be reserved by calling 717-262-2003. For more information, visit www.wilson.edu/event or like the Wilson Office of Conferences and Special Events on Facebook at www.facebook.com/wilsoncollegespecialevents.
