The Wilson College soccer team posted a 3-2 overtime victory today on the road against Christendom College. In an all-around team effort, the Phoenix played a solid 93 minutes to clench Wilson’s second win of the season.
Wilson got on the board first when Nicole Bodulow scored unassisted 36:20 in the game. Christendom responded with a goal of their own to even up the score 1-1 in the second half. Both teams played even during the second half as they each tallied another goal to make it 2-2. Senior Courtney Bernecker scored Wilson’s second goal of the game off an assist from Nicole Bodulow.
Three minutes into overtime, Nana Ohene-Manu headed a goal with help from Nicole Bodulow to secure the victory for Wilson. Wilson posted 18 shots in the contest and held the advantage in corner kicks with seven. Courtney Bernecker led her team with six shots while senior Brittany Poff tallied five shots. Freshman Teniera Prioleau totaled eight saves in net for the Phoenix.
Wilson will host Lancaster Bible College on Saturday, September 21st for a 1pm game.
