Wilson Soccer Blanked By Lancaster Bible College

Posted: September 21, 2013

The Wilson College soccer team slipped to 2-6 on the season when they were shut out against Lancaster Bible College this afternoon. The team dropped the contest by a final score of 5-0.

Lancaster Bible came out aggressively against the Phoenix as they scored four goals in the first half. The Phoenix had a difficult time stealing the soccer ball on their side of the field as Lancaster Bible dominated on their side. Wilson played on the defensive side the majority of the contest.

Wilson was able to stop the damage at five goals total and played a more fundamentally sound second half against the Chargers, holding them to one goal. Unfortunately they were not able to record a goal in the contest against the Chargers goalkeeper Kaitlyn Scheuing.

Wilson was outshot 7-31 against Lancaster Bible and recorded two shots on goal. Senior Brittney Poff led her team in shots with three. Freshman goalkeeper Teniera Prioleau tallied 13 saves in the contest.

The team will travel to Wells College next Saturday, September 28th for a 2:00pm matchup against the Express.
