Wilson College Hosts First Meeting of Franklin Renewable Energy Group

Posted: August 5, 2011

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The first meeting of a new association dedicated to educating and informing the public about renewable energy will be held on the Wilson College campus at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15, in Warfield Hall’s Allen Auditorium.

The new organization, Franklin Renewable Energy (FRE), is being hosted by Wilson’s Fulton Center for Sustainable Living to provide information and a forum for discussion about such subjects as renewable energy production, energy efficiency and sustainable living through monthly meetings, educational seminars and energy fairs like Wilson’s popular “Energy and You” workshops.

The group is being formed because it is often difficult to find information about renewable energy, according to FCSL Program Manager Chris Mayer.

“FRE will serve as a clearinghouse and to provide a venue for the free and open exchange of ideas and information about alternative energy,” Mayer said.
