Keuka Tops Wilson 9-1 in Weekend Finale

The Wilson College soccer team dropped the second game in a weekend doubleheader against Keuka College this afternoon by a final score of 9-1. With the loss the team falls to 0-6 in NEAC competition.

The Storm recorded a big lead early against the Phoenix and continued to widen the gap. Keuka netted a goal nine minutes into the contest and added four more in the first half, taking a 5-0 lead over Wilson. Keuka tallied four more goals in the second half, taking the game easily away from Wilson’s reach.

Freshman Alejandra Madrigal kicked the only goal in unassisted for the Phoenix. The goal marked the first for Madrigal this season. Overall the Phoenix were outshot by the Storm 8 to 37. Freshman Nana Ohene-Manu posted three shots in the game while senior Courtney Bernecker and freshman Nicole Bodulow recorded two shots apiece.

The team returns to action on Thursday, October 3rd when they travel to Penn State Berks for a 4:00pm game.
