Wilson Held Scoreless by SUNYIT

Posted: October 19, 2013

The Phoenix fell to 4-10 this afternoon after dropping a home NEAC contest against SUNYIT by a final score of 7-0. Both teams entered the game with an even number of wins and losses, but the Wildcats offense toppled over the Phoenix.

SUNYIT held a 2-0 advantage at halftime after an early pair of goals. The Wildcats added five more goals in the second half, creating a cushion for a win. Wilson had a tough time producing any type of offense against the Wildcats as they found themselves as defenders the majority of the game.

Freshman Teniera Prioleau had an action packed day in goal and tallied eight saves. Freshman Nana Ohene-Manu managed to tally four shots and one shot on goal for the Phoenix. Senior Courtney Bernecker also added a shot.

Wilson will celebrate their senior day tomorrow at home with a contest against SUNY Cobleskill beginning at 1pm.
