In the second game of a weekend doubleheader, Wilson’s aggressive play dwindled from their competition on Saturday. The Phoenix struggled to find open teammates on their side of the field as they were shut out again by their opponent. Wilson and SUNY Cobleskill had a similar number of shots the first period, but the Tigers held a 2-0 advantage over the Phoenix.
Cobleskill added three more goals in the second half, playing very aggressive against Wilson. Wilson was outshot in the second half 12 to 8. Freshman Teniera Prioleau strung together 10 saves for Wilson in her busy day in net. Senior Courtney Bernecker tallied the most shots of her team with six and senior Brittany Poff closely followed with four.
The Phoenix will look to get back into the win column on Wednesday, October 23rd when they travel to St. Elizabeth for a NEAC contest.
