Posted: October 23, 2013

The Phoenix earned their first North Eastern Athletic Conference win this afternoon topping St. Elizabeth by a final score of 2-1.

Senior Courtney Bernecker scored her 10th goal this season, giving Wilson a 1-0 advantage over the Eagles in the first half. With the goal, Bernecker becomes the all-time leader in career points scored at Wilson College. She recently broke the all-time career goals record at Wilson last week.

Freshman Nana Ohene-Manu scored the second goal for the Wilson crew early in the second half. The Phoenix stepped up their defense and were able to stop the Eagles at one goal. Wilson outshot St. Elizabeth 11 to 5 and came away with a close victory.

Wilson will wrap up their season this Friday, October 25th when they host Gallaudet University at 4:00pm.
