Posted: February 12, 2014

In recognition of National Women’s History Month, Wilson College will host a lecture by Pat LaMarche, a Carlisle educator, journalist and author, at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, in Laird Hall’s Patterson Lounge.

LaMarche will discuss “Poverty, Politics and Paradigms: The Changing Role of Women in Government and the Economy,” which will address how welfare, social services, inadequate education and society’s other challenges affect the economy and the nation.

LaMarche is the author of Left Out in America: The State of Homelessness in the United States, which she researched by traveling the nation, living on the streets and in homeless shelters.

All are invited to attend this free lecture sponsored by Wilson’s Hankey Center, Office of Alumnae/i Relations and Women’s Studies Program.
