CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Area pizzerias will battle it out for bragging rights as Franklin County’s best pizza in the second annual “Pizza Wars” at Wilson College. Pizza makers will pit their pies against each other from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 8, in Laird Hall.

Wilson hosted Chambersburg’s first Pizza Wars last year, when Caretti’s Pizza was crowned the champion. Caretti’s will return to defend its title against such other local pizzarias as Stevi B’s and Papa John’s.

During the event, cold drinks will be sold on site and FM radio station 101.5 Bob Rocks will be on hand to play music and give away prizes. Ticket holders will cast their ballots for “Best Overall Pizza” and “Best Specialty Pizza.” The overall winning pizza establishment will receive a $1,000 advertising package with 101.5 FM and bragging rights for the next year. The winner of the best overall and best specialty pizza will each get a plaque.

Tickets are on sale now for $10 for adults, which includes 10 pizza samples, and $5 for children 12 and under for five pizza samples. Tickets and information can be obtained by calling 717-262-2003, emailing conferences@wilsonl.edu or visiting www.facebook.com/wilsoncollegespecialevents.
