CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – Wilson College will host the second annual Handmade for the Holidays event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, in the upper and lower levels of Lenfest Commons. The event features handmade items from local craftspeople that would make ideal holiday gifts.

This year, items for sale include pottery, beaded jewelry, paper craft, handwovens, soap products, paintings, art glass, metal work, chimes, vases, and Shaker boxes and utensils.

Ten percent of the proceeds will benefit the Keystone Health HIV program in Chambersburg. Dec. 1 is World AIDS Day.

“As well as supporting a worthy cause, this is an opportunity to give gifts that are locally produced by artisands living in the Chambersburg community,” said Wilson Chaplain Rosie Magee. “Giving handmade gifts is a way to think global and act local.”

Handmade for the Holidays is sponsored at Wilson by the Women’s Studies Advisory Program and the chaplain’s office.
