CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – Brian Ecker has been named vice president for finance and administration at Wilson College. Ecker, who brings a wealth of experience in financial management and administration, joined Wilson on Dec. 12.
Ecker most recently served as comptroller at Mount Saint Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Md. Before that, he served Mount Saint Mary’s as director of accounting and business operations for eight years, and director of accounting for four years.
Ecker has also been an adjunct faculty member at Mount Saint Mary’s for nearly 10 years, teaching classes in accounting and financial reporting and control. Previously, he worked for Central Pennsylvania Legal Services, Intellex Corp. and Hanover General Hospital.
Ecker lives in Hanover with his wife, Karen, and son, Henry. He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Penn State and a Master of Business Administration degree (M.B.A.) from Mount Saint Mary’s. He received the Mount Saint Mary’s Presidents Award and Presidential Scholarship Award in 2005, and is a Healthcare Financial Management Association Fellow. He is a member of the National Association of College and Business Officers (NACUBO) and the Central Pennsylvania Business Officers.
Ecker replaces Jim Fisher, who left Wilson last spring after serving several years in the post.
Founded in 1869, Wilson College is a liberal arts college dedicated to the education of women. Affiliated with the Presbyterian Church and located in Chambersburg, Pa. Wilson offers bachelor’s degrees in 30 areas and master’s degrees in education and the humanities. The college’s 2011-12 enrollment in the College for Women and the Adult Degree Programs is 746 and includes 21 students from 10 foreign countries.
