WILSON COLLEGE OFFERS NONCREDIT COURSES

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – Wilson College still has openings in the following noncredit, personal enrichment courses for the spring term:

  • Appreciating Art – 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesdays, Feb. 21 to March 6. Cost: $50. Participants will learn how to evaluate art in order to make the most of visiting art museums.
  • Ballroom Dance – 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesdays, Feb. 8 to March 28. Cost: $98. Participants learn how to Swing dance to Swing band music from the 1940s as well as Arthur Murray.
  • Color in the Garden – 9 to 11 a.m., Saturday, March 3. Cost: $18. Participants can get a head start on planning and planting their gardens with a landscape designer, who will teach them how to understand the basic design tools: color, shape and texture.
  • E-bay 101 – 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Thursdays, March 1 to March 29. Cost: $90. Participants will learn how to develop an on-line E-bay store from someone who has years of experience and knows how to make it lucrative.
  • Excel-ing on the Computer – 6:30 to 8 p.m., Thursdays, Feb. 2 to Feb. 23. Cost: $60. Participants can upgrade their professional and personal Microsoft Excel skills from a high school computer instructor.
  • Life Drawing – 6 to 9 p.m., Mondays, Feb. 13 to April 9. Cost: $90. Easels and boards are provided for artists who want an opportunity to work with a live model each week, at their own pace, in an art studio. No instruction provided.
  • Lunchtime Yoga – 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Mondays, Jan. 30 to March 26. Cost $64. Participants can relieve stress and tension and develop flexibility, strength, focus and balance through the practice of Yoga Asanas, breath work and relaxation techniques. All levels welcome. Bring mat and dress comfortably.
  • Social Networking – 6:30 to 8 p.m., Thursdays, March 1 to March 22. Cost: $60. Participants learn how to do Facebook, Skype and Twitter, and how to move photos from their cellphones to their computers.
  • Spanish Basic – 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesdays, Feb. 8 to March 28. Cost: $125. Participants will learn Spanish from a native of Peru, who will cover the basics of the language, correct pronunciations, grammar, spelling and usage.
  • Yoga in the Evening – 6:45 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursdays, Feb. 9 to March 29. Cost: $68. This class is a blend of balance, strength and flexibility training. All levels are welcome.
  • Zumba – 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. Mondays, Feb. 6 to April 2. Cost: $45. This class combines Latin dancing with aerobics for a full-body rhythmic work-out.

Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis and registrations will be taken up to and including the first day of class.
