Wilson College Muhibbah Club to Host International Dinner March 3

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – Wilson College's international organization, the Muhibbah Club, will host a spring dinner featuring dishes from around the world, on Saturday, March 3, in the Jensen Dining Hall in Lenfest Commons. Doors will open at 5:15 p.m. and the dinner will begin at 6 p.m.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – Wilson College's international organization, the Muhibbah Club, will host a spring dinner featuring dishes from around the world, on Saturday, March 3, in the Jensen Dining Hall in Lenfest Commons. Doors will open at 5:15 p.m. and the dinner will begin at 6 p.m.

The dinner, which has the theme “All Around the World,” will consist of the following dishes served by club members:

  • Appetizer — Fruit Chaat, a sweet-and-sour Pakistani dish consisting of cut-up fruits and spices.
  • Salad — Chicken and Mushroom Salad, a typical Armenian salad with walnuts onions, peppers and salt.
  • Soup — Fan Quie Dan Hua Tang, a popular Chinese family soup with tomato and eggdrops.
  • Entrée — Rice and Butter Chicken, a Nepali dish with plain basmati rice and chicken in a gravy of butter, tomato sauce and spices.
  • Dessert — Krong Krang Kath Sod, a caramelized crisp Thai dessert in coconut cream.
  • Drink — Root Beer Float, an American beverage consisting of ice cream in root beer.

Between courses, students from various countries will provide entertainment, including dances by students from Korea and Nepal.

The public is invited to attend. There is no cost for tickets for the dinner; however, a donation of $5 is suggested. Reservations are required and may be made by contacting club adviser Paul Miller at 717-262-2776 or paul.miller@wilson.edu and leaving a message with phone number, name and number of tickets needed. Tickets will be distributed to guests upon arrival.

The word "Muhibbah" means unity among nations. This year's Muhibbah Club co-presidents are Shin Young Lee of South Korea and Jyotsna Dhakal of Nepal.

Wilson's international student population this semester comes from more than nine countries, including Armenia, France, Ghana, China, Pakistan, Thailand and Mexico.

Wilson offers bachelor’s degrees in 30 areas and master’s degrees in education and the humanities.
