CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – Wilson College will host the monthly meeting of Franklin Renewable Energy (FRE), an association dedicated to educating and informing the public about renewable energy, on Monday, March 19, in Warfield Hall’s Allen Auditorium. There will be a potluck meal at 6:30 p.m. followed by the program at 7. The meeting is free and open to the public.

With the one year anniversary of Japan’s Fukushima disaster pending, the group has invited John Ricca to discuss nuclear reactor safety, security and concerns. Ricca currently works part time supporting the Defense Nuclear Weapons School's Outreach program, including serving as the primary technical instructor for radiological and nuclear counter-terrorism at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and providing technical lectures at other government educational institutions.

Ricca also serves as a senior technical advisor to the U.S. Nuclear Weapons Council Staff and lectures on counterterrorism subjects for civilian university continuing education programs. His lecture will explore all sides of the nuclear debate, allowing citizens to make informed, personal decisions.

Franklin Renewable Energy is being hosted by Wilson’s Fulton Center for Sustainable Living to provide information and a forum for discussion about such subjects as renewable energy production, energy efficiency and sustainable living through monthly meetings, educational seminars and energy fairs like Wilson’s popular “Energy and You” workshops.
