Agape Christian Fellowship seeks to offer opportunities for
Christian fellowship through Bible study, fellowship, worship services
and other events. All students who identify as Christian are welcome to
Agape
events.
We realize that there is a great diversity of belief within the
Christian community and we seek to support dialogue between people of
different viewpoints, sharing their experiences. Watch for fliers and
campus emails regarding
Agape
events.
A chaplain-led Bible study will take place from 4 to 5 p.m. each Monday in the Prayer Chapel. No prior knowledge of the Bible is assumed. This will be designed to be a safe space for questions and for sharing. Bibles will be provided or bring your own. In the fall semester, we will be studying
Women of the Bible.
Crazy for stitching, knitting, hooking, crocheting or sewing?
Wondering what all the fiber-related fuss is about? Join us on Tuesday
evenings in the Women’s Studies Lounge at
Sarah’s Coffeehouse
for
conversation, tea, coffee, a homemade brownie or two and a chance to
craft with friends. The Fiber Fellowship group talks about everything
from crafting and politics to the paper that’s due next week in English
class. All students – beginners and expert crafters alike – are welcome.
Bring a current project or start something new! Fiber Fellowship will
meet from
8 to 10 p.m. every Tuesday.
Wilson
’s Habitat for Humanity Club is a national college
chapter. This student group works throughout the year to plan the
Alternative Spring Break trip, as well as working with the local
Chambersburg Habitat for Humanity Chapter on local builds at least one
weekend per semester.
Click here to learn more about Habitat for Humanity. Are you interested in exploring contemplative practice? Meditation is a
part of many religious traditions. Through weekly practice individuals
work to achieve a greater sense of self-awareness. Professor Robert
Dickson hosts an inclusive meditation group on campus at Wilson. The
meditation group gathers in the Wilson College Prayer Chapel on the
ground floor of Lenfest Commons.
A prayer chapel is located on the ground floor of Lenfest. This chapel
is open at all times that school is in session. The comfortably
appointed room includes a small devotional library, sacred texts, prayer
rugs, music books and floor pillows, a selection of interfaith icons.
Candles are ordinarily not allowed on college property, but with special
arrangements with the college chaplain, candles may be burned for
religious ceremonies within the prayer chapel.
A short period of prayer is held each Monday morning in the prayer chapel. Prayer requests may be placed in the box in the dining hall or sent to the chaplain by email.
A group from Wilson travels to weekly Christian fellowship at nearby
Shippensburg University. FUSE meets from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursdays.
The Wilson van leaves at 8 p.m. from the rear entrance of Sarah’s
Coffeehouse. These meetings have dynamic speakers and a great praise
band.
The chaplain’s office periodically hosts special events. Watch campus newsletters and emails for details.
