CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – Wilson College will host an educational forum on ethanol fuel from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30 in Thomson Hall on the college campus.
Wilson College President Lorna Edmundson will introduce the forum’s speakers. To address concerns on both sides of the ethanol debate, two experts representing opposing viewpoints will speak. Dr. David Morris, vice president of the Institute for Local Self-Reliance in Minneapolis, will discuss the benefits that ethanol can provide as an alternative fuel. Dr. Tadeusz Patzek from the University of California, Berkeley, will discuss the negative aspects of ethanol and its production. After each expert presents his view of ethanol, Public Opinion City Editor John Bechtel will conduct a question-and-answer session in which questions from the audience will be addressed by the experts.
The forum is being co-sponsored by Citizens for a Quality Environment and Penn-Mar Ethanol LLC.
For further information, contact Dr. Edward Wells, who chairs the Wilson College Environmental Studies Department, at 717.264.4141, Ext. 3413.
