CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The annual Summer Enrichment and Exploration Day School (SEEDS) at Wilson College will be held June 18-22 and July 16-20. Sessions run from 9 a.m. to noon daily, and are open to children in kindergarten through grade 6.
Workshops are available in archery, drawing, cooking, basketball, Spanish, swimming, tennis and more. New classes are being offered in traditional martial arts, insect observation and study, and more. In “Snazzy Science,” children will use simple household ingredients to bring science to life, and in “Let’s Build,” they will learn about the relationship between gravity, friction, mass and speed by designing, building and racing cars, among other things.
The cost of each week-long SEEDS camp is $100 per child. A family plan of $85 for each additional child in the same family per week is also available.
This year’s SEEDS format is slightly different from previous years. Children will attend two 75-minute classes each morning, with a 20-minute break between. In addition, children will meet in Laird Hall before and after classes this year, instead of the science center.
Camp brochures are currently available in Big Spring, Chambersburg, Fannett-Metal, Greencastle, McConnellsburg, Tuscarora, Shippensburg and Waynesboro schools. Pre-registration is required. To make reservations or learn more about the course offerings, contact Mary Foltz at (800) 421-8402 or (717) 262-2025 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, or email her at mfoltz@wilson.edu.
