Wilson College in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, invites applications for the position of Coach/Stable Assistant III.

The Equine Studies program at Wilson encompasses many activities:  education, facility and equine management, team/club support and community outreach.  The Coach/Stable Assistant III position will:  support the educational program though instruction of equitation classes;  provide support to the staff of the equestrian center; recruitment for, and coach,  the IHSA and NCEA teams; and, work with the community riding program and camps.  Ultimately the Coach/Stable Assistant III will report to the equine program Director, but will also be responsible to the team Faculty Advisor and the Equine Center Coordinator.

Responsibilities: 

  • Coach IHSA and NCEA Hunt Seat Teams
  • Teach equitation classes each semester
  • Assist in all duties at stables (barns, horses, schooling horses, donations, etc.)
  • Recruiting
  • Summer Camps and Community Riding

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Riding or Coaching NCEA preferred
  • Experience teaching equitation classes preferred
  • Strong horse care skills
  • Clean driving record for van certification
  • Able to work within a seasonally changing schedule
