The Fulton Center for Sustainability Studies is currently seeking two apprentices for the Fulton Farm.  This position is desgined to run from April through November for two years.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participates in all aspects of the Fulton Farm operations
  • Pursues organic/sustainable farming as a livelihood or career in either a one or two year commitment
  • Acquires the necessary skills and experience to advance to a level of being capable of running another operation or managing another farm
  • First Year
    • Masters all aspects of growing farm produce
    • Masters all aspects of harvesting farm produce
    • Learns various aspects of selling farm produce to various clients and customers directly or indirectly, both on an internal and external basis
  • Second Year
    • Learns various aspects or marketing produce including inductry segmentation, advertising, pricing
    • Learns business plan development, strategic planning, organizing, and controlling
    • Operations administration including personnel and financial management
  • Commits to attending and participating in educational events and/or Wilson College pertinent courses


  • Knowledge and commitment to sustainable agriculture practices
  • Ability to follow directions and work with others in a farm environment
  • Experience on a working farm for at least one full growing season
  • Ability to take responsibility and work independently as a farmer and as a representative of the FCSS and Wilson College
