Bio

Joseph Cunningham is an Associate Professor of Accounting and Business at Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA. He teaches courses in financial and managerial accounting as well as corporate, individual taxation and assurance services. Personal Finance, open to all majors, is a course that Professor Cunningham developed for a Wilson student’s life-long learning and application.
 
Joseph received his Master’s in Business Administration from Widener University.  In addition to his administrative background, he obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Accountancy from Villanova University.  He is a Certified Public Accountant (Pennsylvania) and Charted Global Management Accountant.
 
Mr. Cunningham has performed research on student learning outcomes and assessment as well as authored case studies for professional journals.  He has presented at numerous conferences for the American Accounting Association, the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants and NABET.  As a member of the PICPA, he has volunteered his time in numerous ways: as an Editorial Board member of the CPA Journal, the committee on College and Universities, a Tax Planning committee member, and as an organizer for both the annual Personal Finance and Educator’ conferences. 
 
Joseph also earned a NISOD Excellence Award for Teaching. He taught as an Assistant Professor of Business, Accounting and Economics at Albright College in Reading. PA. and earned tenure as a professor at Harford Community College in Bel Air MD. Prior to that, Mr. Cunningham worked in the field of public accounting and administration in the Philadelphia region.
