    Former President Jensen to Read from Latest Poetry Collection

    Wilson College President Emerita Gwendolyn Jensen will read from and sign copies of her new poetry collection at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, in the Warfield Hall auditorium. Jensen, who was president from 1991 to 2001 and now lives in Cambridge, Mass., will read from As if toward Beauty, her second book of poems, as part of Wilson’s annual Writers Series. The reading is free and open to the public.

    Pittsburgh Zoo President to Speak at 2015 Commencement

    Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium President and CEO Barbara Baker will address the senior class at the 145th annual Wilson College commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 17. Baker, a doctor of veterinary medicine, was nominated by the Class of 2015 as its first choice for commencement speaker.

    VMT Club Dog Washes Set for April 11, 12

    The Wilson College Veterinary Medical Technology Club will host dog washes from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, April 11 and 12, in the college veterinary building near the Park Avenue campus entrance off U.S. 11 (Philadelphia Avenue). The dog washes are open to the public.

    Major Gift to Fund Innovative Equi-Assist Program

    Wilson College has received a major gift that will be used to establish an innovative program that trains students to provide home health care for horses. The new “equi-assist” program will be a concentration within Wilson’s veterinary medical technology (VMT) major beginning next fall.

    Author Hugh Martin will read some of his works at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, as part of the Wilson College Writers Series. The reading in Laird Hall's Patterson Lounge, which had been postponed because of inclement weather, is free and open to the public. A reception will follow.

    Wilson College will offer free sessions on how to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on Tuesday, March 17, in Wilson’s Brooks Science Complex. The sessions will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and 7:30 to 9 p.m. and are open to anyone who is interested.
