*Academic Session Descriptions:

In this session, you will explore the dynamic relationship between attention and memory first-hand. Several
enlightening tasks will demonstrate these concepts, and the session will conclude with a discussion with
Drs. Kytola and Schmidt about real world applications.

Molecular Cell/Biochemistry
Every living organism is composed of at least one cell and each cell is a highly regulated functional city
of information processing. Molecular biology concerns itself with understanding the interactions between
the various systems within a cell; including DNA, RNA  and proteins as well as learning how these
interactions are regulated - understanding life at its most fundamental level. This understanding
includes knowledge of cell structure and function, chemistry, genetics and biochemistry. But how do
we know what these mechanisms are and how they function? This session will take us "into the cell"
with the techniques used to visualize and interpret the cellular machinery that we cannot "see", that
allows us to understand the workings of the cell.

Conservation Biology/Environmental Science
Many species face extinction because only a small number of individuals are left. A reduction in
population size can impact the genetics of that species. Why is this and how can we use what
we know about genetics to save endangered species?

Exercise Science/Health Science
Do you see yourself having a future being an integral part of a health and wellness team;
including corporate, clinical, community, and commercial fitness and/or wellness centers?
If so, join the Exercise and Health Science departments for an interactive session that
bridges knowledge and application conducted by program faculty as well as current
students. Engage in our facilities, and gain important information about Wilson's Health
and Excercise Science programs. Students will also have the ability to speak with
current students about course offerings, internships, club and volunteer opportunties.
