Student Learning Goals

 

The Goals of the Environmental Science (BS) Major:

 

  1. Ground the ethical and social dimensions of environmental studies in a strong science foundation.
  2. Synthesize environmental sustainability with an(other) discipline(s).
  3. Cultivate an understanding of environmental challenges through a framework of sustainability.
  4. Provide personalized education, distinguished by collaborative and cooperative faculty-student interaction in which students recognize their roles and responsibilities in establishing and attaining learning goals.

 

The Goals of the Environmental Sustainability (BA) Major:

 

  1. Provide a curriculum that offers service/experiential learning to students.
  2. Synthesize environmental sustainability with an(other) discipline(s).
  3. Apply environmental policy and law to environmental  issues and develop an ability to solve complex environmental problems.
  4. Develop cross-disciplinary research in the natural and social sciences and humanities to cultivate a sustainable approach to environmental challenges.
