Community Lawyering with Pennsylvania Farmworkers

Caitlin Barry, Director of the Farmworker Legal Aid Clinic at the Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, will discuss her work teaching law students the practice of community lawyering. Students in the Farmworker Clinic represent farmworkers and their families and provide legal support for community organizations working for racial and economic justice for immigrant workers across Pennsylvania.

Taylor 2 Dance Company Special Performance

Wilson College welcomes the Taylor 2 Dance Company to the Capitol Theatre in downtown Chambersburg for a special performance to mark the College’s Sesquicentennial. Taylor 2 is a part of the greater Paul Taylor Dance Company of New York and was established to ensure performances could be seen by audiences all over the world, regardless of economic considerations and the logistical limitations of nontraditional venues. The dance company has traveled the globe many times, garnered international acclaim and won numerous awards. 

Las Posadas 2019

Las Posadas, a Mexican Christmas tradition, will return to Wilson College on Thursday, Dec. 5 Free and open to the public, the event will begin at 6 p.m.

Las Posadas is a re-enactment of the story of Christ’s birth, following the journey Joseph and Mary made from Nazareth to Bethlehem in search of a refuge where Mary could give birth to the baby Jesus. When they were unable to find lodging in Bethlehem, Joseph and Mary sought shelter in a stable, where Jesus was born.
